I love my meat!

Yesterday after work I was craving for some Korean BBQ. You can blame TOM approaching. I texted the bf who also got of work around the same time.

He's such a weirdo! Lol! So we went to Gen a fairly new Korean BBQ restaurant that opened near his house. The wait is always long so we always passed until the next time. When we're hungry we can't wait for food lol! I heard so many good things about this place plus my craving so I was determined to try it. After starving for 45 minutes, we were finally seated and the feast began!

All the side dishes and sauce

Short ribs, brisket, and a giant piece of steak!

I loved that you can order veggies!

Tofu soup

Soybean soup

Green tea salt, sesame oil with salt and pepper, ponzu sauce. I thought it was interesting they had green tea salt but it ended up tasting great with the steak!

Semi burnt but still so delicious

Hawaiian steak!

Beef tongue. I didn't know the bf ordered it and when I found out, I was not willing to eat it. He got mad that I was going to make him eat it all by himself so I had one piece. It was a strange texture. Not my favorite at all... It looks like a tongue gahh!

The outskirts? Not sure what exactly it was but the meat was a bit more tough. Pork belly and giant beef belly. The pork belly was good. The beef belly was hard to chew. I was willing to accept the consequences "you will be charged for unfinished food" to avoid eating all the beef belly. Luckily our waiter was super cool and told us to hide the meat so we won't get charged. He added, "be creative." lol! After that we had one more plate of short ribs and cooked the beef belly with it. Then we cut it into pieces and his it under our salads lol! Overall the food was really good! Better than the other OC places. And since it was more modern, I felt it was so much cleaner. That's a biggie in my book! This was good in its own way since there were so many options to choose from. The last place I went to was good in a more traditional way. Korean BBQ twice in one week was satisfying but I think I've had enough neat for a month lol...

Of course I had to get dessert. The bf said, "what is this a nativity scene??" lol!

Quick NOTD inspired by a post I saw Jill post

Without flash. Orly nite owl and OPI for sephora only gold for me.

Happy Thursday! I finally have a day off from work yay! But then I have to dive head first into crowds of crazy shoppers for Xmas gifts boo! I hope everyone has a great day! One more day til Friday and the weekend!

Happy Tuesday!

This past Sunday I was able to enjoy an experience of a lifetime! I attended the Kanye West and Jay Z concert! It was hands down the best concert I've been to, to date (past concerts include: Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa twice, Lloyd, Far East Movment, Keri Hilson, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne).

First my friends and I went to eat Korean BBQ in LA.

Hae Jang Chon the best Korean BBQ I've ever had! Must travel outside of OC for it!

I've never had squid at a Korean BBQ place before! It was delicious!

I went with my friends (left to rigt) Chi and Kat. My friend Tim, Kat's husband also joined us. He was our photographer haha! I was going for a Beyoncé ghetto fabulous look with a big hair, sheer top, booty shorts and thigh high boots. But apparently no one else was dressed like they were going clubbing (I normally see that at the other concerts). So I stayed covered up until inside where it was dark lol!

These are just pic from my phone. I'm too lazy to upload from my camera for now lol.

They had such amazing special effects! What I found impressive was both did the entire concert without any breaks and it was just the two of them. No back up dancers or rappers or posse.

This is the Otis song

Mr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I've always have been and always will be a hip hop baby :) it was so awesome to hear songs I grew up with! Kanye West and Jay Z performed their single hits and well as duets. Every time a song came on, I knew exactly when I heard it. Like Hard Knock Life was from when I was in 8th grade! I can't even believe Jay Z has been around that long! What a great experience it was! On top of that, so much fun with my friends while we sang along to the songs and danced!

Quality time

Busy and conflicting work schedules = less quality time with the bf. Finally on Friday after work, we spent the evening hanging out. This continued on through today.

Friday:
Dinner at Azteca a Mexican restaurant with wall to wall to ceiling of Elvis Presley memorabilia. I love Elvis!

That's the ceiling!

Me cheesing it

Simple small plate of nachos (beans are under)

Carne asada taco with their famous garlic sauce (I could still smell the garlic the next morning =\ nonetheless it was delicious!)

Rice, beans, and a tamale. The bf had a tostada but he was too hungry so I couldn't get a pic lol!

I love spicy food! I had to ask for extra jalapeños. After dinner, we headed to Disneyland.

We weren't staying long so we parked at Downtown Disney. Super packed day so I made my own parking spot like a typical Asian lol! Once inside, the bf treated me to ice cream! It was freezing cold out but I still had to have my ice cream cone from the Gibson Girl ice cream parlor.

Mint n chip with a candy cane and chocolate covered waffle cone. After this, we headed over to Small World and waited about 30 mins in line.

While waiting in line, I noticed the circle around the moon.

Can barely see it but it's there lol!! We wanted to see the eclipse but we forgot to set our alarms. Oh well...

I didn't take any more pics inside cause I was recording to later show my nephew.

Saturday:
We started our morning with a 3 mile run and 1 mile walk. Then we took our dogs to the park for 20 mins. After that, I took forever getting ready lol! Finally at 2, we went to get our first meal of the day. We decided to try this raw food restaurant called 118 Degrees. It's not entirely raw. If there is anything cooked, it's cooked no higher than 118 degrees. That's the temperature they believe is before food loses its nutrients. Very interesting! It was better than I had hoped for! So many different flavors in combination!

Veggie lasagna without any pasta

Bento plate with a burrito, chocolate truffle, mushrooms stuffed with pesto and some red sauce, and kale salad. We each had a mushroom. It was so good the bf ate the last one before asking me. What do I do?

Order more :) Of course I had to have dessert after!

We split the chocolate truffle which was literally one bite as a whole. Not enough... Then we ordered an apple cobbler.

It was so delicious!! Though there was no crust (my favorite part of all pies), there was some interesting nutty stuff under the apple slices. That concludes part of my weekend. More to come :)
